The ransom authors order the payment to be paid by the cryptocurrency as it makes the perpetrator untraceable as makes the money trail hard to track.

It can be very risky if it finds a way on to your system as its main purpose is to spy on you so it knows exactly what your doing, in most cases it tries to get your banking information. If you suspect this is on your computer, it’s best not to use it until a full scan has been done.

Once the program is executed it causes infection and damages the system by deleting files, reformatting the Hard Drive and damaging software.
